Why indexing is important for a database?
Indexing is important to assist us in retrieving stored information. It makes the retrieval faster and reduce the searching time hence reduce the processing and waiting cost.

What happen if we do not have indexing?
We will face difficulty in retrieving some data. Longer time is needed and more processing power is required in order to search something. We may have to resort to brute-search if we want to find something.

What is ONE disadvantage of indexing if deployed in database?
Indexing disadvantage is it can increase pre-processing. The preprocessing include building special tables for the indices, sorting or re-arranging the indices or even creating some predictive mechanism for the indices.
